Description

According to the painter Franceso Albani, Annibale Carracci was dissatisfied with his depiction of Diana and Endymion as it looked as if she was delousing him ("Io mentre vivea detto Annibale lo sentii dire che volevar buttar giù quella su Diana dicendo a me che pare 'spidochiasse' il suo caro amante Endemione" (Cacho Casal, loc. cit.)
