The "Official memoir" consists of a letter addressed to Lowe and signed by General Count de Montholon.
Copy 1 Note: With additional t.p. 'Appel á la nation anglaise' facing English t.p., and text in French and English on facing pages. Sir J. McGrigor's presentation inscription to Aberdeen Med.-Chir. Soc. on t.p.; MS. note in another hand identifies the real author as 'Colonel Macirone' [i.e. Maceroni] and this attribution is confirmed by A. Chaplin ('A St. Helena who's who', 1919, p. 125)
