The play was performed in 1906 at Drury Lane Theatre, London, of which Arthur Collins (among those portrayed here) was the managing director and John D'Auban the choreographer. Top left, the creation of a gigantic model whale with sharp teeth, which Sindbad lands on thinking it is an island: Queenie Leighton (who as principal boy played Sinbad, portrayed here bottom right) had an accident, falling off the stage whale during the performance whilst appearing as Sinbad on tour in Bradford. "She recovered but did not continue to play the leads at Drury Lane afterwards" (Wikipedia): if that report is correct, the present drawing suggests she did play in the Drury Lane production but in a different role. Her forename is written here as Quenie, presumably in error
