About this work

Description

Original inventories of bedding, furniture, chapel fittings, etc. The upper part of the upper cover is painted black and white. The top half (black) has a painting of St. John the Baptist in brown and yellow, holding a scroll inscribed 'Ora Domino Deo Patre Omnipotente'. In the lower half (white) is the word 'Inventorio' with a large decorated initial. A number of leaves have been cut out from the middle of the volume. The MS. has been begun from both ends, and a pencilled foliation has been added. Fol. 2 Al nome di dio e della gloriosa Vergine Maria et del beato Santo giovanni battista / In questo libro scriuerro lonuentaro di tutte le masseritie sono nello spedale di santo gio / vanni batista di portatori di uia di san ghallo di firenze le quale sono queste qui scritte cioe / (col. 1) Venti quatro [struck through and 'due' superscribed] lettiere usate /... Ff. 14, 13v Inventory for 1393. 13, 12v Inventory for 1398. 12 Inventory for 1398 with additions for 1400. Fol. 11v Note dated 1458 concerning the visit of an Archbishop and of his beneficence. Produced in Florence.
