Membership list, minutes, and accounts of the Military Hospital Society. August 1764-March 1767. ff. 18-32, 72-90. Two catalogues of Paterson's library at Castle Huntly, the first undated [c. 1806], the second signed by George Paterson, 29 October 1813.

Biographical note

George Paterson studied medicine at Edinburgh, London and Leiden and served as an army surgeon from 1762 to 1764. The Military Hospital Society was a London dining club. Its members were army physicians and surgeons prominent at the time of the Seven Years War, including Donald Monro, Hugh Alexander Kennedy, Robert Adair and Sir Clifton Wintringham.
