Sigeion and Rhoiteion in the northern Troad region of Anatolia. "This view of the Sigean promontory, the supposed cenotoph of Achilles, the village of Troaki, built on the ruins of the ancient town of Sigeum, the new castles of the Dardanelles [built by Fatih sultan Mehmet] the one in Asia, and the other in Europe, with the island of Samothrace in the distance, was taken from some ruins vulgarly called the tomb of Ajax, near the Rhetean promontory" (Museum Worsleyanum, op. cit. p. 39)
