Machnow : the Russian giant, his wife and manager.

Postcard showing Machnow (said to be 9 ft 8 ins high in 1905) standing behind a car. His wife is next to him in a dark coat and his manager in a light suit and cap is looking up at him. There is a Hippodrome theatre behind them. The word: 'Machnow' is visible in letters on the roof and there is also a poster with his name behind him. Above the image are the words: Hammerstein's Victoria Roof Garden, New York where Machnow was probably appearing as part of a freak or variety show. The card would have been sold as a souvenir.
