Dr. Thomas' Eclectric Oil : what it has done : what it will do : [playing shuttlecock] / [Foster, Milburn & Co.].

One of a series of victorian trade cards issued by Foster, Milburn & Co. to advertise their Dr. Thomas' Eclectric Oil (50 cents a bottle) which was supposed to cure: Toothache, earache, backache, lameness, coughs, hoarseness, colds, sore throat, deafness, pain of burn, pain of scald and croup. The illustration on the front shows 2 little girls and a boy playing shuttlecock on a garden path. Each has a racquet and there are 2 shuttlecocks. The background is a rustic village scene overprinted in gold and dark blue (common to several cards). The oil was found to contain: spirits of turpentine, camphor, oil of tar, red thyme and processed fish oil.
