About this work

Description

Typescript (two sheets) with the title "Ideas on protein synthesis (Oct. 1956)". The text begins with "The Doctrine of the Triad" and a definition of "The Central Dogma".

At a Society for Experimental Biology Symposium on 'The Biological Replication of Macromolecules' (held at University College London, 16-20 September, 1957), Crick spoke about the synthesis of proteins, outlining both "the sequence hypothesis" and "the central dogma", hypotheses subsequently elaborated in Crick (1958), "On protein synthesis".
