Collection of cookery, medical, veterinary and household receipts in various hands, early 18th century. With a typewritten transcript of the culinary recipes, 20th century. Blind-stamped stationer's binding with tie holes, rebacked and lettered `Dorothea Repp's 1703'.

Ownership note

The book belonged to the Repps family of Norfolk, and most of the named sources of the recipes have Norfolk connections; they include Sir Andrew Fountaine [1676-1753, of Narford] (f. 84r.), John Amyas, surgeon [of Norfolk] (ff. 59r., 73r., 146r.), the Revd Browne of Cawston (f. 83r.), Mr Clayton of Norwich (f. 61r.), and Mr Brown of Hockering (ff. 77r.-79r.). An additional medical authority is `Mr Mullens the chirurgeon' [?John Mullens, surgeon, licensed by the bishop of Winchester 1695 and the archbishop of Canterbury 1699] (f. 67r.). Ownership inscription: `Dorothea Repp's 1703' (f. 2r.).
