Notes and extracts from alchemical authors in English, French, German and Latin: with particulars of experiments, etc. made by the Author. Author's holograph MSS. Illustrated with a few rough pen-drawings of apparatus, etc. The dates 1786 and 1787 are found in Parts III and V.

Biographical note
The author served in the British Army at Fontenoy in 1745, and in other later campaigns in Europe, was promoted to Major General in 1777, and was elected F.R.S. in 1779 [see the Dictionary of National Biography].
