Receipt-Book, Italian: 16th-17th century

Collection of medical receipts in Italian: with additions by a middle 17th cent. owner. Ff. 4, 12, 17-19, 28, 39-42, 48, 55-57, 61, 89, 90, 101, 115, 116, 121, 122, 132, and all after 133 are wanting: many leaves frayed and stained. A number of headings of the original work are in red. The Index at the beginning is by the later hand.

c. 1550-c. 1650

1 volume 15 ll. + 114 [133] ll. 8vo. 141/2 x 101/2 cm. Modern vellum binding. The fly-leaves are from a leaf of a late 14th cent. vellum Service Book.

The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
