Notes

The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Autographed and dedicated real photo of Jimmy Slater (1896-1996). Slater enjoyed one of the longest and most successful careers as a drag artist, entrepreneur and producer; primarily in the northern English holiday resorts. This shot, dated 1945, was obviously a favourite of his, in use many years after the photograph was originally taken. Hair and make-up here are heavily influenced by the Hollywood star Jean Harlow, (the original 'platinum blonde') who died in 1937."
This work is untitled: the title has been supplied by the cataloguer.
