About this work

Description

This is an almost full length photograph of her outside the Retreat, wearing hat and shawl. She was a patient at the Retreat from 1881 to her death in September 1920. She celebrated her 100th birthday at the Retreat on 28 January 1919 (when the photographs were taken). With the photograph are press cuttings recording her centenary, and her obituary. The cuttings and photographs were put together by Harold C Hunt, Retreat steward and historian.
