Description

These are Agreements made by the Retreat with those responsible for paying the fees for patients while they were at the Retreat. Fees covered board, disbursements and if necessary funeral expenses. Interest at 5% per annum was charged on overdue accounts. Patients were also to be removed within 14 days of notice by the hospital. These completed forms give name and address of person responsible for fees. They were signed in the presence of a witness. The agreed terms are noted on the form. Some forms are signed by the Clerk of the Monthly Meeting responsible for a Quaker patient. Voluntary Boarders are included Forms are filed chronologically by date on which form was signed, and under name of patient
