About this work

Description

The Worker Organisation Project aimed to investigate the ways in which political, social and economic variables affect the form of work organisation and the processes by which these forms change over time. The four elements of operational approach were a comparative study of two apparently similar organisations which display dissimilar forms of work organisation, we would aim to identify the different assumptions, values and ideologies that lead to the development of the different forms of work organisation. This was a longitudinal study of change in accountancy systems, to see how new forms of technology were processed through the organisation to become part of a particular form of work organisation and utilising existing contacts and previous research results and possible differences in work organisation changes.
